haul and reviews :)

Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of updates, I was in London for the last week staying with my grandparents and I didn't have internet. The weather was lovely over there, its horrible being back in the rain and cold!

On Monday, we got the tube to the huge Westfield shopping centre. It was massive, and each shop was huge. I got some clothes, and of course some makeup. Only a couple of the things here are from Westfield, the others I got at the market.

Under each picture I'll give a quick review of what I think so far :)
♥ Revlon Colorstay foundations in Nude and Early Tan
♥ L'oreal Voluminous Mascara Carbon Black
♥ GOSH Velvet Touch Primer
♥ MAC Subculture Lipliner
♥ Inglot Double Sparkle Eyeshadow 457
♥ Barry M Dazzle Dust (no sticker)
♥ Barry M Nail Paints in 290 Spring Green and 296 Coral

L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black
I really really like this mascara so far. I've read so many raves for it online and I just had to try it. I haven't tried it with primer underneath, but on it's own its great anyway. Its very black and thickens and lengthens my eyelashes really well, almost as well as my favourite Maybelline XXL (that I use the primer with). I'm really happy with this and I'll be repurchasing. It was only £4 at the market.

MAC Subculture Lip Liner
I've wanted this for ages, but I always forget to buy it whenever I'm at MAC. This time I remembered though ;) I really like this lipliner, its a very neutral colour so you can wear it with almost any lipstick or lipgloss and its not too dark so it won't give you that chola look. It helps define my lips when I've got nude lipstick on. Would repurchase if I ever ran out.

Barry M Nail Paints in Spring Green and Coral
I got these for £1 each at the market. I haven't tried Spring Green yet, but it's not really at all like the colour in my picture.. sorry! My camera messed it up, its a more pure green not the mint colour shown. Coral is also a bit darker than that and brighter, I have it on my toes at the moment. Had to do a few coats for it to show up like the bottle but it's nice. A bit more luminous than I was looking for though but you cant go wrong for one pound :D

GOSH Velvet Touch Foundation Primer
This is great. I prefer it to my BareEscentuals Prime Time. Theres so much more in the bottle and its cheaper. It feels so smooth on my face and a tiny bit goes a very long way. My foundation goes on so smoothly and flawlessly. Love it.

Inglot Double Sparkle Eyeshadow in 457
I've heard of Inglot before but never used it, and when I walked past the shop in Westfield I had to have a look. I was really impressed, these eyeshadows are amazing. Theyre bigger than MAC ones and very very pigmented. This colour caught my eye first, The picture doesn't really do it justice though, sorry again! It's very glittery, but you can buff the glitter away quite easily. They have a wide range of colours and finishes, I'd definitely get more in the future. And I think it was only £8. My mum got a teal eyeliner from there too which is really nice and creamy.

Revlon Colorstay Foundations in Nude and Natural Tan
I love Revlon Colorstay foundation. I know it seems strange that I got 2 shades that are so different, but I like having a wide range of foundations because I use fake tan and my shade differs from day to day depending on when I've applied tan and when I've showered etc, so it's nice to be able to mix and match to whatever shade I am. I've been mixing a bit of Natural Tan into my NC25 Studio Fix fluid and its perfect at the moment.

Thats all I bought :) Hope you enjoyed reading, and if you have any questions or want swatches dont hesitate to ask. Oh and thanks to my new subscribers! ♥

illamasqua vs mac nude lipstick

On Saturday I went to Dublin with my friend to go shopping. I was really excited to check out the Illamasqua counter in BT2. I was veryyy impressed with all the products, they were all so pigmented and the colours were mostly matte and really nice. The makeup artist was really nice, she was chatting away and reccommending products, and the lipsticks caught my eye the most. Nude lips are my absolute favourite and theyre what I wear every day. I noticed "Agony" lipstick and I fell in love.

It's a really creamy, true flesh toned nude with no pink tones.

Left: Illamasqua "Agony" ♥ Right: MAC "Myth"

Left: Illamasqua "Agony" ♥ Right: MAC "Myth"

The swatches are on the inside of my arm so obviously thats quite a bit paler than my face. I'm NC25 in MAC at the moment and the Illamasqua lipstick pretty much matches the colour of my lips where Myth shows up more pink than my skin.

I love the formula, it's so creamy and longlasting and not very drying, even though it's matte. I can see it being my new favourite and I definitely want to buy a lot more from Illamasqua!

9th of august fotd

First of all before I start I want to thank all my new subscribers for following me yay! :) I'll definitely be posting again because I've recovered from my sickness. Thank god for antibiotics!

Anyway, I recently pressed most of my MAC Pigments and when I was going out with friends the other night I wanted to try them out. I'm soo happy with them, they were fun to press and they're much easier and faster to use now. The colour payoff is great and I'm more likely to use them as they're in my palettes.

The camera and lighting reallyy washed out this look because I took the photos when it was dark in front of the lights on my bathroom mirror.. so yeah not great but they'll do.

sick :(

Sorry I haven't posted at all lately, I've been in bed sick for the last few days and haven't been in the mood to do anything with makeup. I have tonsilitis and I did have a fever and really badly aching body but thankfully those symptoms have stopped and it's just my throat now. But I'm getting better and I'll be posting soon :)

acrylic nails with leopard print tips using mac pigments

I've been experimenting with doing my own acrylic nails since the start of the year. I love doing them and I think I'm getting better. On Wednesday I created my favourite set yet :)

First of all I just did basica acrylics using clear tips and sheer pink acrylic. I shaped and buffed them to a low shine finish (I was lazy and knew I would be doing nail art anyway :P). I had been admiring the look of leopard print nails on youtube and nail boards and such, and decided that I should have a go.

I didn't have any of the polish colours that I needed though, except black, so I decided to improvise. I dug out my MAC Golden Lemon pigment sample and MAC Museum Bronze pigment and put a little bit of each on a sheet of paper. Using clear nail polish I dabbed the brush into the Golden lemon and painted the golden base layer of the tips.

Then I cleaned off the brush and dabbed into the Museum Bronze and dotted random shapes over the tips that would be the inside of the leopard spots. When that dried, I put a blob of black nail polish onto the paper and using a toothpick I drew little lines around the bronze dots to finish the leopard pattern.

I'm very proud of these nails, I'm aware that other people may think they're really tacky but I'm happy! :D

girls aloud eyelashes and little primark buys

Yesterday I went shopping to a small town near me. I also saw Bruno. Meh, I didn't think much of it, parts were funny but it just felt weird watching some of it!

This was my FOTD. The skin makeup was a little bit worn off from being on for 12 hours and being rained on :) This is one of my usual looks for going out with friends and when I can't really be bothered with my makeup.

I especially like the scarf and bracelets :) I also purchased the Girls Aloud False Eyelashes designed by Cheryl Cole. I had been admiring them for a while and they're really pretty. I like the flicks at the sides. I'm going to wear them to an 18th I'm going to tonight!

That's all for now!
